Blackberry Storm to Take On iPhone

Blackberry has released some details of the soon to be released Blackberry Storm.  One feature that sets the Storm apart from other touchscreen smartphones is the springs under the screen that will provide touch feedback.

One of the main complaints about the apple iPhone is that the glossy screen does not provide any feedback when touched.  The Storm attacks that issue by using mini springs under the screen so the screen will actually give slightly when pushed.  They feel this will provide a better user experience.

Additionally, the Storm will be available both on Verizon and Vodaphone and phones sold by one network will work on the other.  If you plan on travelling overseas, this means your Verizon Blackberry Storm will have the ability to operate on the Vodaphone network in those markets.  This should be a real plus to the Storm user that travels worldwide.

The storm is expected to be available in the 4th quarter of 2008.
