Skins Cases are a good way to provide some shock and scratch protection while also being water resistant.  Unlike a leather case that can be damaged by moisture, the skins material was developed for wetsuits and is water resistant.  The Skins case for the Blackberry Pearl Flip 8220 is a good all around carrying solution.

The case includes a metal reinforced spring loaded belt clip that also swivels.  The ratcheting swivel action allows the phone to be carried in 8 different positions between horizontal and vertical.  The only negative to a case like this for a Blackberry phone is the lack of a sleep magnet.  As a result, the phone won’t go into sleep mode like it would with a good holster.
